Stoneware Matte glazes provide a variety of colors and performance characteristics. Some matte glazes have opaque solid coverage and others are semi-transparent and variegated. Application thickness is key to making Stoneware Matte glazes work well.
Cone: 5 - 10
Image: Cone 6 (fired flat, in oxidation, on a white clay body)
Finish:
* Cone 6: Designed to produce a medium gray to white variegation depending on application.One coat will produce a matte finish with little white variegation. Subsequent coats build a white variegation.
* Cone 10: Off-white variation darkens.
Dinnerware Safe: Yes (When properly applied and fired to proper cone)
